Our kitchen is hidden from the sun. It’s mostly dark on most hours of the day. We have to cook with the lights on, even in the mornings, since the area is a constant Polar Night. I do wish at times to have a kitchen that overlooks a sunny garden or to have at least buckets of light streaming in from the window. Since I don’t have any of those, this particular streak of light that unexpectedly reaches the corner of my kitchen sink made my day. For once, the kitchen felt lighter than usual and it was certainly a joy for me as I cleared the dishes away and prepared dinner. On that note, I should probably get the window cleaned. Sometimes, a little light enables you to see the existing dirt better.
